The National Retail Federation issued the following news release:
Millions of Americans set their sights on websites Monday to snap up holiday deals and browse for bargains. According to the Hitwise Retail 100 Index, provided first to Shop.org, traffic to retail websites on Cyber Monday rose 26 percent over 2006.
A recent Shop.org survey conducted by BIGresearch found that 72 million people planned to shop on Cyber Monday. Additionally, comScore has reported that Cyber Monday sales reached $733 million this year.
