Today, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip met with Andrej Bajuk, Slovenian Minister of Finance, and Marko Kranjec, President of the Bank of Slovenia. At the meeting, the experience of Slovenia in joining the Euro zone was discussed, as well as the reasons for the rise in inflation in Slovenia this year.

The President of the Bank of Slovenia and the Minister of Finance both assured that adoption of the Euro has been smooth. Export has increased by 17% and competitiveness has increased significantly. However, after joining the euro zone, inflation has increased, exceeding the Maastricht inflation criterion
