London, Dec. 12 -- Director Orson Welles' 1941 Oscar for 'Citizen Kane' is all set to go under hammer Sotheby's in New York.

The Academy Award for Best Screenplay will be auctioned off along with Welles' personal working copy of the script.

'Citizen Kane' is considered the greatest film of all time and has also been voted as the number one film in history by the American Film Institute in 2007 and by the British Film Institute in 2002.

The Oscar was, once believed to be lost by Welles himself, was found in 1994.

The award was returned to the Orson Welles Estate after a long legal battle.
