SHOULD PEOPLE in the Diaspora be allowed to vote in elections in Jamaica? This is an issue that has become a major point of engagement in the community in New York. It is a question asked at just about every function where either a discussion on Jamaica takes place or where a Jamaican government official, of any rank, appears.

Many believe that citizens abroad should have the vote. The talk thus far has been about national parliamentary elections; however, it wouldn't be a stretch to include all elections in Jamaica.
