Fort Benning issued the following news release:
The Army announced today the availability of the Record of Decision (ROD) for the BRAC realignment and transformation actions at Fort Benning, Georgia.
The ROD summarizes the decision for implementing BRAC actions as directed by the 2005 Base Closure and Realignment Commission and U. S. Department of Defense (DoD) Transformation Actions at Fort Benning.
Fort Benning covers 181,275 acres in portions of Muscogee and Chattahoochee counties in Georgia, and Russell County, Alabama. Fort Benning is the sixth largest DoD installation, in terms of land area and third largest in terms of troop numbers.
