Article: RENO FIREFIGHTERS HOST CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR CHILDREN IN TRANSITION

The city of Reno issued the following news release:

Santa Claus arrived on an antique fire engine with red lights flashing and sirens blaring Sunday as 200 children from Reno's downtown core area gathered at Reno Fire Station No. 1 to celebrate the Christmas holidays at the Reno Firefighter's Annual Children's Christmas Party.

Reno firefighters' first organized the event at Station No. 1 in 2001 to provide children in transition from the downtown area a chance to experience Christmas-time joy through making Christmas ornaments and gifts, playing games, participating in face painting and eating a hot meal with adult role models.
