Article: Sen. Johnson Introduces Bill Concerning Indian Tribal Governments

WASHINGTON, Dec. 28 -- Sen. Tim Johnson, D-South Dakota, has introduced a bill (S. 2520) to "amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow Indian tribal governments to transfer the credit for electricity produced from renewable resources."

The bill, introduced on Dec. 19, was co-sponsored by Sens. Gordon Smith, R-Oregon; and Byron L. Dorgan, D-North Dakota. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
