Article: NEW DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT FACILITIES GET PLENTY OF USE

The U.S. Army 1st Infantry Division issued the following news release:

Two facilities at Fort Riley designed solely to support troops headed out and in of Fort Riley opened about two weeks ago. Already, in that short time period, the buildings have seen heavy use.

The buildings are the Deployment Support Facility at Camp Funston and the Alert Holding Facility on Custer Hill. Each cost a little more than $5 million. The buildings have outside security, a manifest room, a large room with bleachers for deployment or redeployment formations, scales for weighing cargo and an area for serving food.
