WASHINGTON, Dec. 29 -- Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, R-Nebraska, has introduced a resolution (H.Con.Res. 272) "urging the U.S. Government to initiate a diplomatic surge to foster security and stability in the Middle East by engaging international stakeholders and governments throughout the region to curtail destabilizing influences, help prevent the spread of violence, address humanitarian concerns, and enhance prospects for security, political, and economic progress in Iraq."
The resolution, introduced on Dec. 18, was co-sponsored by Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas. It was referred to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
