The United States is aging. In 2006, the oldest members of the baby boom generation celebrated their 60th birthdays. The boomer generation has had a huge societal impact at every stage of its development, but as boomers become "seniors," they are joining still-living parents-even grandparents-and transforming societal perceptions and expectations of aging. One of those perceptions being challenged is that older adults must move out of their current living environment to obtain the services and care they need as they age.
