Article: STATE LIQUOR OFFICIALS CLARIFY LAWS RELATED TO NEW YEAR'S LIQUOR SALES

The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection issued the following news release:

Due to an exception in the State Liquor Control Act, Connecticut bars, restaurants, hotels and other places selling alcoholic drinks to New Year's Eve celebrants may continue serving until 3:00 a.m. on the morning of January 1, the Department of Consumer Protection reported today.

"On the occasion of New Year's Eve, Section 30-91 of the Connecticut General Statutes specifically allows drinks to be sold until 3:00 a.m. on the morning of January 1," Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell, Jr. said.
