ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 2 -- Richard L. Mueller Jr. of Jackson, Ky., and Paul K. Hsei of San Jose, Calif., have developed a biopsy instrument.
According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A biopsy device comprises a biopsy instrument, suitable for collecting at least one tissue sample from a body lumen, such as a mammary duct, and a cutter introducer sized for receiving the biopsy instrument and introducing the biopsy instrument into a mammary duct to retrieve a tissue sample therefrom."
The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,311,673 on Dec. 25, 2007.
