The Clatsop County government issued the following news release:

On Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 4:06 p.m., Clatsop County sheriff's deputies responded to a call from a man reporting he was lost in the area off the trail by Indian Beach in Cannon Beach. Junius Rochester, 73, of Seattle was hiking the trail in Ecola State Park with two other companions when he became separated from them and lost off the main trail.
