WE HAVE BEEN TREATED TO TWO REALLY FINE PAPERS ON THE subject of disruption and desire in analytic treatment. What I find especially useful about them is that they are both very much concerned not only with the role of the patient's desire but with the role of the analyst's desire in the clinical encounter, a subject that I think remains even now underattended in our field.
