Introduction
Written children's literature in Ghana is fairly recent. Before the arrival of the missionaries and the colonialists who introduced formal education and literacy into Ghana, parents and grandparents drew upon the rich stock of traditional Ghanaian folklore to entertain and educate both young and old.
