The Mississippi Department of Transportation issued the following news release:
According to the weather forecast, there is a possibility that wintry weather could pass through the state of Mississippi this weekend. The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is prepared for Old Man Winter's debut. All six MDOT districts will have road crews on standby and ready to be deployed throughout the state.
Wintry weather always makes driving conditions extremely difficult and possibly dangerous. MDOT personnel throughout the state are monitoring the weather and will take whatever measures necessary to help keep Mississippi roadways as safe as possible.
