Article: SAN JOSÉ STATE UNIVERSITY CHANGES APPLICATION DEADLINES IN RESPONSE TO PROPOSED STATE BUDGET CUTS

San Jose State University issued the following press release:

The California State University system has asked many campuses including San José State University to accelerate application deadlines to Friday, February 1, for fall 2008 first-time freshmen. San José State has also moved up application deadlines for transfer students. The new deadlines were selected because of the high volume of SJSU applications received for fall 2008 and limits on campus capacity due to proposed state budget cuts.

"We recognize this is a difficult budget year, but these cuts will impact student access to the CSU because we will not be able to admit all the students who are qualified," said CSU Chancellor ...
