ABSTRACT
Objectives To determine the prevalence rate of primary infertility in the provincial centre of Kayseri, the state-trait anxiety levels of childless women and the impact of some factors on the anxiety levels.
Materials and methods The investigation was carried out in the Kayseri province of Turkey. A sample group of 2400 married women aged 15-49 was visited at home and couples with primary infertility were identified. The female partners of these couples were included in the study group and were called 'childless women'.
