Once she sets her mind to do something, there's no stopping her! Now, that dynamo of a woman, known to Broward County as "Big Mama," has launched a toy drive for needy children.
"We need toys for young children and for high school kids, too," said Essie "Big Mama" Reed. "Older kids are often forgotten and there's a special need there. I want to reach out to adults from Broward County high schools, the alumni, and ask them to give toys and mentor these children. These kids need the gift of mentorship, to speak with someone who has shared similar experiences, someone who comes from the same neighborhood."
Toys are now being collected at Big Mama's Team of Life headquarters located at 2136 ...
