After seeing "Sweeney Todd" -the dark Tim Burton musical that opens today at the Regal Cinema 6 - Fma little nervous about getting a haircut. Thank goodness, Frank, my neighborhood barber, didn't burst into a Stephen Sondheim song when he pulled out his straight razor to touch up my neck.
I'm sure my fear is groundless. If anything, Frank is more likely to talk you to death.
So who was Sweeney Todd, you might ask? Was there ever a murderous barber by that name?
May as well get that question out of the way up front: No, there wasn't a reallife guy named Sweeney Todd. This so-called "demon barber of Fleet Street," a serial killer who wielded a straight razor and baked his victims into meat ...
