NEW DELHI, India, Jan. 26 -- It's not easy to situate Ian McEwan in the surroundings of a mall. But there he is, with the popcorn machines in the background, in Jaipur's Inox cinema, waiting for the Indian premiere of the adaptation of his novel, Atonement, to come to an end and field questions from the audience.
Along with him are some friends that include Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Christopher Hampton. I butt in and tell McEwan that a sequel of his novel, Saturday, already seems to have been filmed in India.
