This brief but fascinating book compiles the author's Schumpeter Lectures, delivered at the University of Graz, Austria in 2001. It has two aims: to establish the significance of complex systems theory for Classical political economy (PE); and to utilize this marriage of approaches to analyze issues as diverse as technical change and the distribution of income, global warming and population growth.
