A new law-and-economics textbook aimed at undergraduate students is always welcome, and it was in this spirit that I eagerly awaited Donald Wittman's Economic Foundations of Law and Organization. But this book is more than a law-and-economics text in many ways-and less, in others.
The first clue is the title-specifically, the presence of the word "organization." This book could have easily been subtitled The Contributions of Ronald Coase, for it is Coase's transaction cost analysis that unifies nearly ...
