Article: Rep. Higgins Introduces Bill Concerning Annual Budget of Social Security Administration

WASHINGTON, Jan. 29 -- Rep. Brian Higgins, D-New York, has introduced a bill (H.R. 5110) to "amend title VII of the Social Security Act to require the President to transmit the annual budget of the Social Security Administration without revisions to Congress."

The bill, introduced on Jan. 23, was co-sponsored by Reps. Rosa L. DeLauro, D-Connecticut; Joe Baca, D-California; Mike McIntyre, D-North Carolina; Joe Courtney, D-Connecticut; Jerry McNerney, D-California; Jan Schakowsky, D-Illinois; Michael Arcuri, D-New York; Dennis Moore, D-Kansas; and Keith Ellison, D-Minnesota. It was referred to the House Ways and Means Committee.
