The San Diego County District Attorney issued the following press release:
San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie M. Dumanis announced today her office will appear before the California Board of Parole Hearings to strongly argue against granting a parole date to convicted murderer Craig Peyer. Peyer, a former California Highway Patrol Officer, killed 20-year old Cara Knott in 1986. He is serving a sentence of 25 years-to-life in prison.
"Craig Peyer used his position as a law enforcement officer to commit a heinous crime with callous disregard for his young victim. He continues to pose a very real danger to the public," said DA Dumanis. "Our office is fully-prepared to provide the board ...
