Article: ASSEMBLYMAN DOHERTY TO INTRODUCE LEGISLATION MOVING PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY BACK TO JUNE

The New Jersey Assembly Republicans issued the following news release:

Assemblyman Michael Doherty today announced that he will be introducing legislation to move New Jersey's presidential primary back to June so that New Jersey can save the $10.5 million expense of holding two separate primaries.

"At a time when the Governor and legislative leaders are questioning whether we can cut spending, here is an easy way to save more than ten million dollars without having a negative impact on the people of this state," said Doherty, R-Warren and Hunterdon. "Holding one primary election instead of two is just common sense."
