USS Juneau (LPD 10) Sailors helped pick up refuse in Sasebo, Jan. 31, as part of a volunteer project called Seisou.
This is the first year of the project, developed by Juneau's Chaplain, Lt. Frank P. Munoz, as a means for Juneau Sailors to give back to the welcoming Sasebo community. The word seisou means cleaning in the Japanese language.
Armed with gloves and plastic bags, Juneau's crew took time out from a busy maintenance period and underway preparations to scour the town for garbage.
