Food choices may affect children's behavior. A new study published in The Lancer contributes to evidence that artificial food coloring and preservatives may increase hyperactivity in children. During the six-week study, 297 children received a drink containing 45 mg of the preservative sodium benzoate, and one of two mixes that contained artificial food coloring or a placebo.
