Article: CITY OFFERS TIPS FOR WINTER WEATHER

The city of Louisville issued the following news release:

As the city prepares for a winter storm that could drop as much as eight inches of snow, the Louisville Metro Emergency Management Agency is offering advice on weathering the storm safely.

"Everyone is potentially at risk during winter storms and frigid weather," said EMA director Doug Hamilton. "People can be injured or die from traffic accidents on icy roads, suffer heart attacks while shoveling snow, or develop hypothermia from prolonged exposure to cold."

Hamilton recommends listening to a weather radio or a commercial radio or television station to stay informed about winter storm watches, warnings and advisories.
