New developments in Human Rights, CHRP role in UN's Philippine review

The Universal Periodic Review is one of the important changes introduced by the United Nations Human Rights Council as it is an equalizing mechanism between rich and poor countries, between powerful and weak nations. Under the UPR, members of the HRC are subjected to a review of their human rights performance, unlike in the defunct Human Rights Commission.
