CROSS-BORDER ASSAULT ON GANGS WILL EXPAND

The Justice Department has reached a new agreement with El Salvador as part of a program to expand enforcement against MS-13, which has spread operations in 40 U.S. states and 10 countries in the Western Hemisphere.

The Transnational Anti-Gang (TAG) initiative (the Centro Antipandillas Transnacional) and its centerpiece is personal contact and collaboration between the U.S. National Gang Intelligence Center FBI and the Policia Nacional Civil (PNC), the federal police agency of El Salvador.

The initiative currently involves 20 investigators and 10 analysts from the FBI and the PNC.
