If you are like me, around this time of year I get about 100,000 new calendars. I get one from UPS, and one from the insurance agent. One or two usually appear as Christmas gifts. Some have monkeys. Some have models. Others have flowers or picturesque scenery. Competition for the tack board above my desk is fierce.

What defines a great calendar? Well dates are important, but all calendars have those. Properly placed holidays are a nice feature too, but it's unlikely that I will forget when Christmas or the 4th of July hits.
