Kinn of Franklin, Mass., Ashish Mathur of Wilmington, Del., and Gregory Neil Henning of Charlotte, N.C., have developed a durable hydrophilic nonwoven mat. According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A nonwoven web of a wettable fiber matrix, wherein the wettable fiber matrix are thermoplastic polymeric fibers blended with at least one hydrophilic melt additive.
