Anyone listening to the dialogue of the day might get the idea there are just two huge universes out there - the government and the private sector. Ba Joe Gliessner, director of New Directions Housing Corp., maintains there's a whole other world operating between the behemoths. That's the world of nonprofit organizations, for whom, he says, the chief motivation is to help people who need help.
