Lectotypifications in Prescottia (Orchidaceae-Orchidoideae)

Summary. Typifications of 11 species names are presented as a result of work on a taxonomic revision of the genus Prescottia Lindl.

Introduction

Prescottia Lindi, includes 24 species (Ackerman 2003), of which 17 occur in Brazil (Pabst & Dungs 1975). These species generally occur between 500 to 1,500 m altitude and are distributed from Florida to northwestern Argentina. They are usually found in very small populations mainly in humid forests.
