Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash. (4th CD), issued the following news release:

A mental health bill expected to be voted on in the House of Representatives today would outlaw the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center as it exists today. Amendments authored by Congressman Doc Hastings that would have fixed the bill to protect the Medical Center were rejected last night by Democrat leadership.

"I offered several options to protect the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center and I'm disappointed that the House won't be allowed to vote on any of them," said Hastings.
