Although the death toll in the weeks following the disputed Dec. 27,2007, Kenyan election now sits in the hundreds, all Kenyan Mennonite Church members are reported safe, although a few have been displaced because they were living in areas where the majority of residents are from other tribes, and some have lost their tools.
Kisumu, Kenya's third largest city that is located in the country's western region, has been the centre of much of the postelection violence. Hundreds are dead in Kisumu alone and many major businesses are totally gutted.
