Hal was waiting on the porch when his sister pulled in. He walked down the gravel drive to meet her and when he was close enough, snatched the keys. "We need bread and milk and all that." He opened the driver's door and climbed into the truck.

"You have enough money?"

Hal patted his pockets. "Right, right. Money. How much you got on you?"

"How are you going shopping without money?" Suzie extended a hand. "Give me the keys, Hal."
