IGV actuator is designed for demanding DLN applications
The new line of "severe-service" Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) actuators is designed to perform under demanding Dry Low NOx operating conditions. The actuators seek to address recent complaints of premature leakage.
Extensive testing shows that the problem was caused by control-induced "dither" that prematurely wears seals and bearings, says Peter Kaido, Director of Young & Franklin Engineering (Liverpool, NY). "We know that contaminants or misalignments did not cause leakage."
