Article: Sen. Biden Introduces Tom Lantos and Henry J. Hyde United States Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Reauthorization Act

WASHINGTON, March 14 -- Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr., D-Delaware, has introduced the Tom Lantos and Henry J. Hyde United States Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Reauthorization Act of 2008 (S. 2731), legislation that would "authorize appropriations for fiscal years 2009 through 2013 to provide assistance to foreign countries to combat HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria."

The bill introduced on March 7, was co-sponsored by Sens. Richard G. Lugar, R-Indiana; Edward M. Kennedy, D-Massachusetts; and John E. Sununu, R-New Hampshire. It was referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
