Article: Avista Corp. appeals case to high court

Avista Corp., of Spokane, is joining with two other Northwest investor-owned utilities to challenge a federal appellate court fading that the Bonneville Power Administration erred in the method it used to make big payments to the utilities.

The utilities, Avista, Seattle-based Puget Sound Energy Inc., and Portland-based Portland General Electric Inc., together filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this month seeking review of a U.S. Ninth Circuit of Appeals decision last May.
