Article: ATTORNEY GENERAL VAN HOLLEN ANNOUNCES CONVICTION, SENTENCING OF LAFAYETTE COUNTY RESIDENT FOR FILING FALSE DNR REPORTS

The Wisconsin Department of Justice issued the following news release:

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today that Michael T. Byrne of Shullsburg, Wisconsin was convicted today of two misdemeanor counts of falsifying land spreading records while employed at Bytec Resource Management, Inc. in the City of Monroe.

After the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) conducted an investigation and referred the matter to the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) for prosecution, Byrne and Bytec were charged in September 2006 with falsifying land spreading records and filing false annual reports with the DNR in 2004.
