Article: REP. LOEBSACK VOTES TO INCREASE BYRNE-JAG FUNDING FOR FISCAL 2009

Rep. Dave Loebsack, D-Iowa (2nd CD), has issued the following statement:

Today, Congressman Dave Loebsack voted in support of the House FY 2009 Budget Resolution. The Resolution, which passed 212-207, rejected many of the Administration's budget proposals, including the reformatting and underfunding of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne-JAG). The Budget Resolution provided for full funding for the FY 2009 Byrne-JAG grant program, and makes other critical investments to boost economic growth, create jobs, make America safer, promote fiscally responsible tax relief to millions of households, and help Iowa families struggling to make ends meet in an economic downturn.
