WASHINGTON, March 21 -- Sen. Joe Lieberman, ID-Connecticut, has introduced the Armed Forces Mental Health Professionals Recruitment and Retention Enhancement Act of 2008 (S. 2778), legislation that would "amend title 37, U.S. Code, to expand certain bonus and special pay authorities for members of the Armed Forces in order to enhance the recruitment and retention of psychologists, social workers, mental health nurses, and other mental health professionals in the Armed Forces."
The bill, introduced on March 13, was co-sponsored by Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-California. It was referred to the Senate Armed Services Committee.
