Expanding West
While several engineering firms have left the Quad-state region because their national building clients have pulled back, Ryan & Associates, a Frederick, Md.-based professional engineering design firm, has expanded westward to Hagerstown.
"We are not staffed to do civil engineering," said Angie Steidl, business manager for the firm. "We're not in the residential development, but work on commercial projects."
Ryan has leased 1,600 square feet in the Fox Deceived Building on Howell Road off South Edgewood Drive, and plans to open the office by the beginning of April with one licensed engineer and three to four staffers.
