'We left notes on seniors' doors saying, The center is going to reopen.'
We met Ms. Jackson1 earlier where she talked about leaving a pet behind. In this section, she talks about the hurricane from a worker's perspective. She is the director of a large senior center. Because it did not lose power or phones, it was the only center operational in the city for the rentainder of 2005. Seniors who had returned and were reheated throughout the city had difficulty getting to the center because public transportation was initially suspended and, when it resumed, the bus system had frwerroutes.
