Article: MOHAVE COUNTY TO AID FEMA WITH FLOOD MAP MODERNIZATION

Mohave County issued the following meeting news release:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is creating digital floodplain maps, nationally, that will be easily accessed on the internet.

According to a Mohave County Public Works Department official, the county and the Mohave County Flood Control District are working with the incorporated cities, the state and FEMA to update the flood hazard maps.

"We will hold a public meeting soon concerning the local Map Modernization Project for Mohave County which is part of a nationwide effort to update the country's aging flood hazard maps so that they reflect the most current flood risks in recently studied areas," County Public Works ...
