Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash. (4th CD), issued the following news release:
At the direction of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the House Rules Committee this afternoon swiftly and suddenly approved a measure that would rewrite House rules and wipe-out a longstanding requirement in American trade law that the Congress vote on trade agreements within 90 legislative days of it being submitted by the President.
The House of Representatives is expected to be vote on the Democrat's unprecedented measure on Thursday. If it passes, then a vote on the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement would be delayed indefinitely.
