Former South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Dan Ross of Blackville passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, after suffering a stroke. Ross served as Chairman from 1976 to 1980 and was instrumental in ushering in a competitive two-party political system in South Carolina after years of Democrat dominance. South Carolina Republican leaders are remembering Chairman Ross for his dedication and leadership.
