ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 18 -- Gabriela Durcova-Hills, Wolfgang Schernthaner and Valeri Zakhartchenko, all from Oberschlei, Germany, Sigrid Muller, Hendrik Wenigerkind and Eckhard Wolf, all from Vienna, Austria, and Gottfried Brem of Hilgertshause, Germany, have developed a nuclear transfer.
According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention relates to a method for breeding animals via cloning and the animals obtainable by the method, in particular a method for reproducing animal embryos via efficient nuclear transfer with primordial gametes."
The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,351,876 on April 1.
